Illustrative image. More people than ever are finding their way to the Central Coast. San Luis Obispo County welcomed a record 7.9 million visitors in the fiscal year that ended in June, The Tribune reports. Visitors spent about $2.4 billion across the county, supporting more than 24,000 tourism jobs, and San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport handled 811,905 passengers. Roughly 1,200 new lodging rooms are on the way. For locals, that means busier weekends downtown and more new places to eat, drink and stay.
