The man accused of the firebomb attack on a Boulder gathering has pleaded guilty in federal court, CBS Colorado reports.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman changed his plea on Oct. 29 to guilty on 12 federal charges, including hate crimes. He admitted targeting the Run for Their Lives gathering on Pearl Street because of victims' actual or perceived Israeli national origin and Jewish faith. The attack killed Karen Diamond.

Prosecutors and the defense are seeking a sentence of life plus 50 years. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2027.

The plea closes a major chapter of the federal case for a community still recovering from the attack.
