Illustrative image. A blank white wall is causing a stir in Land Park. Vic's Ice Cream painted over a 2021 mural by Sacramento artist Maren Conrad The Sacramento Bee reports. The mural decorated the outside of Brew Bird, the cafe that shares a building with Vic's. Conrad says it was a community effort during the pandemic, funded by local businesses at a cost of about $40,000 and honored Jacquelyn Anderson. Councilmember Phil Pluckebaum said he was "outraged." Vic's owner Samantha Grifone says she emailed the artist on June 28 and has promised a new mural. Conrad says she never received the email.
