# The NH Film Festival Turns 20 This Week

Downtown Portsmouth belongs to the filmmakers this week.

The New Hampshire Film Festival is back Tuesday through Friday, October 6-9, and this one's special: the 20th anniversary edition. More than 100 new films, screenings and discussions anchored around The Music Hall, parties spilling into the streets — it's the week downtown turns into a movie set about movies.

Twenty years is a real milestone for a festival that has quietly become one of New England's best. Filmmakers fly in, locals play hooky for matinees, and every dinner table in town ends up arguing about what to see.

VIP passes and single-day passes are still available. If you've never done the festival properly — a full day bouncing between screenings, grabbing food between shows, catching something weird at 9pm — the anniversary year is the one to start.

See you at The Music Hall. Twenty years looks good on this festival.

WOW Portsmouth
