Kessler students have a new view from the playground fence: their future school going up.
Helena Public Schools broke ground on a new Kessler Elementary on Oct. 7, with more than 100 students, staff and community members on hand, KTVH reports.
The new school is being built next to the current one so classes are not disrupted. It will have 24 classrooms, including two for life skills and two for Kindersprouts, plus a fully compliant kitchen, fire suppression and better gym and multipurpose space.
It is funded by the $43 million elementary school bond voters passed last September, and students should be in the new building in fall 2028.
