Something's in the water in Helena's classrooms — and it's excellence.

Capital High School teacher Jake Warner was just honored with the 2027 Travelers Award for Teaching Excellence from the NEA Foundation. Here's the remarkable part: it's the third consecutive year a Helena teacher has won a national teaching award. Three years, three teachers, three national honors.

That's not luck. That's a school system doing something right, year after year, teacher after teacher. In a town better known for politics than pedagogy, Helena's educators are quietly building a national reputation.

The award is named for 2027 because the foundation announces a cycle ahead — but the streak is happening right now, in real time, in Helena classrooms.

Congrats, Mr. Warner. And congrats, Helena. Keep the streak alive.

Three straight years of national recognition doesn't happen by accident. It's culture, leadership, and teachers who show up. Helena, take a bow.
