Fire trucks, police cars and candy. Lakeland's kids get an early Halloween.
The Lakeland Police and Fire departments bring back Truck or Treat on Monday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. along the north and east banks of Lake Mirror and at Fire Station 1, the Lakeland Gazette reports.
Families can meet firefighters and officers, explore fire apparatus and police vehicles, and trick-or-treat at more than 15 stops with candy, Halloween goodies and safety giveaways.
It is free and geared toward kids 12 and younger. Costumes are encouraged, and treats are first come, first served while supplies last.
