# Bend's Children's Museum Just Parked a Month-Long Pop-Up in Discovery West

Central Oregon kids just got a temporary clubhouse for curiosity. The Children's Museum of Central Oregon is staying put in Bend for the whole month — and the blocks are already flying.

According to The Bulletin, the museum opened its **first long-term pop-up on Oct. 3** at **Discovery Corner in Discovery West** (1123 NW Ochoa Drive, Suite 100) and will keep the doors humming through October.

The mobile museum, which launched in August 2024 and usually hops between schools, libraries, parks and events across Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties, is finally planting itself in one spot. Director Erica Segal told The Bulletin the team is "so excited about the opportunity to be in one space for an extended stay" while chasing a permanent year-round home.

Expect hands-on STEAM fun — science, technology, engineering, art and math — plus toddler time, homeschool hours and kids night out. Exhibits rotate weekly through ideas like sound energy, building, force and motion, block coding and engineering design.

Discovery West marketing director Valerie Yost said an educational pop-up that nudges kids to stay curious "feels like a natural fit." Agreed. Pack snacks. Pack wonder.
