A long-awaited missing link in southern Osceola County is finally under construction.
Osceola County has started building the Cross Prairie Parkway Connector, a roughly $36 million project, News 6 reports.
The 1.6-mile, four-lane extension will close the gap between Nolte Road and the C-31 Canal, linking the future Nolte Road Turnpike interchange to the existing parkway in Tohoqua. Plans include a canal bridge, bike lanes, a sidewalk and a multi-use path.
The project includes $6 million from the state and is fully funded. It is expected to open to drivers by summer 2028.
